Mark William “Creep” Helton
September 24, 1976 – November 28, 2010

Marc was “best friend” to countless people from Hendersonville, NC (hometown) & Lexington, KY where he lived for the last 13 years. Marc impacted many people with his kindness, generosity & his infectious personality. No one felt this more than his immediate family (Parents Bruce & Brenda & Brothers Eric & Jared). Marc was the rock in his family having an amazing, loving connection with each person. He rarely would let time with friends and family pass without expressing his love & offering a bear hug. Marc graduated from Lincoln Memorial University where he played collegiate basketball & graduated with honors. He worked for the UK College of Pharmacy for 6 years followed by 6+ years at Biomet Tri-State as an orthopedic sales rep. Marc was a multiple award winner for Biomet & prided himself on being the most knowledgeable rep in the OR. Marc was always a fierce competitor. He was Senior Athlete of the Year in High School where he played baseball & was a standout basketball player. In Lexington he was constantly involved in sports that ranged from softball with some of his closest friends, basketball, volleyball & hunting. He also loved to play golf whenever he could find the time. His competitiveness would also show itself on weekends at UK (& Michigan) football games during tailgating festivities – i.e. cornhole where – if you asked him – he never lost a match when paired with the right teammate. As a tribute to Marc the “Creep Classic” will involve some competitive golfing and an after party he would be proud of! In his fashion we are excited about raising as much money as possible for great charities – as well as making this an annual event to provide another way to never forget the friendship, competitiveness & fun Marc demonstrated every day!
